ABOUT
The Harp Break pedal provides clipping distortion with a full range of clean to hard grit. As LEDs begin to conduct, they produce a soft clipping distortion that is very similar to vacuum tube distortion. The soft clip is visibly evident by the dim lighting of the LED on the face of the pedal, and as the DRIVE is increased the LED clips harder and begins to glow brighter: the brighter the LED, the harder the clip. The tone is very close to vacuum tube distortion but without the overtones produced by tubes. The tone is much better than typical solid state distortion created by transistors, but that is not all. The Harp Break features a 20dB BASS BOOST feature to add a fat bottom end to your tone. This pedal is a great tool to dirty up an otherwise clean amp and create distortion when going into a PA. When the pedal is not used to produce distortion, it can be used to fatten up your tone by providing
POWER
The pedal requires a 9v battery or a 9vdc power adapter. The AC adapter requirements are 9vdc with a minimum 100mA output and a 2.1mm x 5.5mm connector with a negative center and positive outside. The battery is switched OFF when an external power supply is used, and the IN jack acts as the ON/OFF switch and the pedal is ON as long as there is a cable plugged into the IN jack. Power adapter is not included.

i ordered a Harp Break but received a Harp Attack instead. i had to order an 18v power cord so i could try it out. still waiting on the cord. i was debating between the HA and the HB in the first place so this is an opportunity to try the HA i guess. All of the Utube comparing vids, while helpful, are still inconclusive. will settle up the difference in price later. Thanks

I really liked the response of the new-ish HB52 mic, especially the strong wah I can get with it. But, compared with my other fave mic (custom EV920 SphereX), the bottom end is a little thin. So, enter Harp Break, with a more "aggressive" distortion than the Heart Attack, and that Bass boost. That Bass knob can really fatten up my sE/Hohner mic's tone, while attenuating the high end a bit. The Harp Break is a really good pairing with the HB52. If you have a mic with a Heumman element, like a Bulletini, the added bass response may be unnecessary, unless you really want to pump the low end. The Heart Break is built like a tank, and it helps a lot in getting that killer tone, imho. FYI, if you have a problem with your LWB pedal, Randy is really helpful. It's appreciated.
