The Alpha Wolf is a multi-effect pedal that features three of Lone Wolf's classic circuits, the Harp Attack, Harp Reverb, and Harp Tone+. With this pedal, regardless of using a back-lined amp with the 1/4" output or going straight into a PA with the XLR output, a player can be confident he or she will be able to dial in not just a good tone, but a great tone. The source of the tone this pedal produces is derived from a subminiature pentode vacuum tube, the pentode is the same type of tube used in the power section of amplifiers. The reverb section is one of the truest reverbs ever produced in a pedal, in a lot of ways it sounds better than a spring reverb tank.
Please be aware that the subminiature tube, like all tubes, can be microphonic and make a ringing noise when the bypass buttons are hit, any noise should be of low volume and subside quickly. Because this pedal is intended to be an "always on" pedal, this issue is not a factor when performing.
Harp Attack: Turn the DRIVE clockwise for more distortion; note that increasing DRIVE also increases volume, so you will need to turn VOLUME down to balance the output. For extra crunch set the CLIP switch to the up position. When the Harp Attack function is in bypass the Volume and Drive are bypassed. Harp Reverb: The REVERB sets the level of the effect and the SPRING TONE sets the tone of the effect from a bassy spring tone to a true tinny tone. Harp Tone+: The tone circuit is always active and adds up to 20db of gain in BASS or TREBLE.
The Alpha Wolf operates off an 18V DC 200ma power adapter, which is included for US customers. The "IN" jack acts as the pedal ON/OFF switch.

Alpha Wolf Review
The Alpha Wolf is amazing. I can practice at a low volume amplified and get a great to e and sound. Whoever invented this is a genius. I would recommend this to any harmonica player who plays amplified.
Versatile Pedal - Great Service
This pedal is a situation proofer. Need to dirty up a clean amp? How about playing direct to a PA with quality tone? Want to get amplified tones direct to your DAW without an amp? Need to use your amp & play direct to the PA at the same time? Already mic your amp? Great, now you can have two sources of sound to add variety to your tone. Wonderful for playing at home at night to get amplified tones straight to headphones without having to use an amp and wake up the house (Alpha Wolf > USB Audio Interface > DAW). Awesome way to sit in with bands without bringing an amp or to traveling light. Mic up your amp and use the XLR out to record both at the same time to add more to your recordings that you can pick and choose from in the mix. Make sure to use the 18v adaptor or the pedal doesn't get enough power to operate. The signal sent out with the switches engaged will be much weaker than your clean tone with the switches off if you use a 9v adaptor. Great product!
Looking for the all-in-one tone monster pedal? This is the beast to buy! Great gadget, yeah you right! Sweet added bonus of a built in DI so you can run direct to the PA. Lone Wolf gets it and any harp player will love this magic dingus box. Money well spent!
Everything about the pedal is great except for one thing. Even at the lowest setting, to my ears, the gain is too much for most applications. And the inherent compression is such that the volume level between clean and gain is not even. Clean is louder than gain. The fix would be to modify the gain function to go from very subtle to full bore, and have a dedicated volume control for the clean side so it can be balanced with the gain side. Otherwise, the build is solid, reverb sounds great, etc. Just a shame that it falls somewhat short of the main purpose of the pedal. It's still usable, but not quite there yet. Just needs less gain and a balance between clean and gain.. IMHO. Thanks.
Adds a whole new dimension
Really helps my son stayed out with the band. Also great customer service
