Product Description:
ABOUT
The Harp Break pedal provides clipping distortion with a full range of clean to hard grit. As the LEDs begin to conduct, they produce a soft clipping distortion that is very similar to vacuum tube distortion. The soft clip is visibly evident by the dim lighting of the LED on the face of the pedal, and as the DRIVE is increased the LED clips harder and begins to glow brighter: the brighter the LED, the harder the clip. The tone is very close to vacuum tube distortion but without the overtones produced by tubes. The tone is much better than typical solid state distortion created by transistors, but that is not all. The Harp Break features a 20dB BASS BOOST feature to add a fat bottom end to your tone. This pedal is a great tool to dirty up an otherwise clean amp and create distortion when going into a PA. When the pedal is not used to produce distortion, it can be used to fatten up your tone by providing a buffered FET input and by the added bass provided through the BASS BOOST. The Harp Break offers all of this and a money-back guarantee if you are not satisfied for any reason.

POWER
The pedal can be powered with a 9V battery or a DC adapter. The DC adapter requirements are a regulated 9V DC with a minimum 100mA output and a 2.1mm x 5.5mm connector with a negative center. The battery is switched OFF when an external power adapter is used, and the "IN" jack acts as the pedal ON/OFF switch. Power adapters for US and EURO customers are sold separately.

This pedal overdrives the signal out of the mic. It can give you a lot of different sounds depending on the settings. The volume, bass and drive controls give you a lot of option on what you want your sound to be. This is a versatile pedal and a must for amplified harp playing.
Great product and a great company. Randy Landry was a great help from Loe Wolf Blues.

This pedal is one that can't be made better. It gives your sound that old school big tone you hear on the old blues records. I recommend this pedal if you want to your sound to have that big raspy tone.

I've tried a lot of pedals looking to bring a Bassman RI to life. Randy's Harp Break was the Ace in the hole I'd been searching for. I'm able to adjust the RI to be as nice or nasty as needed covering a wide range of good tones and nasty breakup.

The info provided by the website is extremely accurate to how the pedal works in real life. I have had the chance to use it with an amp (HG 50 1210) and straight into the PA.

Pascal Lemaire (belgium) - October 12th 2009
just receive the harp break today.
The sound is really amazing, a very hot distortion with deep basses, and if I reduce the drive and push up the volume, I got a clean sound with the same amp ( harpgear HG30 ), so more versatility. This pedal is the distortion pedal that I was looking for since a long time.
Thanks for making that possible.
Hope I can send you a video of my next gigg with the Harp Break.
Thanks Pascal JHT from Belgium
Take care of you

Hi Randy,

Absolutely love my Harp Break pedal. I hooked it up to my Sonny Jr. II which is a custom made premier Boutique Harp Amp made by Gary Onofrio and Cotton Amps that I’ve had for about 10 years and it absolutely cuts, howls, and growls with that fat Brown Chicago overdriven tone we all love. My Amp by itself is great don’t get me wrong otherwise I would have never bought it but being such a dry amp without any effects or overdrive save it's inherent characteristics augmen [...read more]
