DAYTON 8 MTM

When I decided to build rather then buy a set of speakers for my new tube stereo I visited the Parts Express forum and did some research. My requirements included a 2-way system with strong bass and high end response, typical for blues, R&B and rock listening. Someone sugested that I consider the DAYTON 8 MTM which is a ported 8" midrange woofer - tweeter - 8" midrange woofer design with a fairly small footprint. In the begining I thought I was going to have to spend a good bit on the speakers but that was not the case with the Dayton's, I was able to build a truly high quality set of speakers for a very reasonable price. I could go on and on about how they sound but I will not and only say that I do not think I could have picked a beter sounding design.

Unfortunately I did not document the build with photographs but the reference sites provided have excellent photos and information including crossover network design, parts list and construction diagram.
